Presented on the eve of the 1984 Paris Motor Show at the famous Lido on the Champs-Élysées, the Ferrari Testarossa quickly became one of the defining supercars of the 1980s and 1990s. More than just an icon of its era, it marked a new chapter in Ferrari design and remains one of the most recognisable models in the modern history of Maranello.
Designed by Pininfarina, with the celebrated hand of Leonardo Fioravanti, the Testarossa introduced a dramatic new visual language. Its wide rear stance, large side air intakes, distinctive longitudinal strakes and rear grille-covered lights created a silhouette that became instantly recognisable around the world.
This 1987 Ferrari Testarossa is an early European “Monodado” version, fitted with the highly desirable centre-lock wheels. It is estimated that only 1,008 European versions were produced in 1987, making this early specification particularly interesting for collectors.
Power comes from Ferrari’s 4.9-litre 12-cylinder engine, producing 390 hp and paired with a 5-speed dogleg manual gearbox. In period, the Testarossa was capable of reaching a top speed of 290 km/h, confirming its status as one of the great performance cars of its generation.
This example is presented in a rare and elegant colour combination, with a Nero exterior over a full leather interior. The cabin features a black dashboard and upper door panels, contrasted by beige seats, upholstery and lower trim. The car remains in excellent overall condition and is completely original.
Having covered only 36,000 km, the car is accompanied by all manuals and its service book. It also holds a Certificate of Historical Interest Vehicle from ACP, valid until 2027.
A major service was recently completed, including the full timing belt kit, engine oil, gearbox oil, brake fluid and the respective filters. With its Monodado specification, elegant Nero colour scheme, low mileage, originality and recent maintenance, this Testarossa represents a highly evocative example of one of Ferrari’s most iconic modern classics.
